Continuing to develop Thinking through Mathematics

Cancellation Policy: ACER manages its event bookings on a first come, first served basis and usually operates a waiting list for each event. Late cancellations or non attendance results in an unused space and often a non recoverable cost to ACER. Our cancellation policy means that we will seek to recover a £50 administration fee from delegates’ organisations for non attendance and/or cancellations with less than 48 hours notice. (We are more than happy to accept an appropriate substitute delegate where one can be provided).

Aim
This course aims to build on our ‘Developing Thinking through Mathematics’ training activity during last year with deeper exploration of this innovative resource, sharing strategies for teaching and learning.

Audience

  • Mathematics / Numeracy teachers and tutors
  • Key Skills (Application of Number) and Functional Mathematics tutors and teachers

Content
On this one day training course there will be opportunities to;

  • share your experiences of using the ‘Thinking through Mathematics’ materials
  • continue to explore a range of active learning approaches
  • discuss how to link theory and principles to classroom practice
  • develop ideas into resources which can be used in your own learning context
  • identify opportunities to share good practice with colleagues in the region
