The Learning Revolution is here

The Learning Revolution and Learning Revolution Festival is here.

The Learning Revolution is the Government's vision for informal adult learning in the 21st Century. The Campaign for Learning is producing a guide to explain The Learning Revolution and how you can support its aims through your Family Learning Festival activities and your wider work for adults, whether they are carers, grandparents or employees.

The Learning Revolution Festival will take place throughout October and will feature thousands of activities celebrating and supporting informal adult learning.

The guide will show you how to link up your Family Learning Festival activities to the biggest celebration of informal learning and will be available to download next week but in the meantime visit www.familylearningfestival.com for more information.

Family Learning Festival Grants

The Campaign for Learning is delighted to announce a second round of grants as part of the Learning Revolution Festival. We've teamed up with the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills to provide small grants for first time organisers of Family Learning Festival events. Organisations can apply for grants of up to £250 to help fund activities as part of this October's Family Learning Festival and support informal adult learning.

The Campaign for Learning welcomes applications from all sorts of organisations, including voluntary and community sector organisations, schools, workplaces, libraries, galleries, charities and many more. So please spread the word amongst your organisations and partners, who may not have organised an activity before!

To download an application form and guidelines, visit the Family Learning Festival website.

Hurry the deadline for the second round of applications is Friday 25th September. Please do not apply for the grants if you have already applied for the first round. For more information please email Laura Collier on lcollier@cflearning.org.uk or ring the Campaign for Learning on 0207 930 1111.

Focus on Fathers

The Fatherhood Institute have kindly contributed 10 top tips on engaging fathers in family learning They are also asking Britain's mums and dads - along with their employers and the professionals whose work supports 21st century family life - to share their views on the future of fatherhood. By taking part in the Big Fatherhood Debate, you can help them develop a better sense of what's changing in family life - and of how you think Government, employers and local services could better support fathers to perform their role.
