News - Learning Champions Workshops

Learning Champions is a fully-funded programme to boost the culture of learning within non-unionised organisations in the East of England.

Our aim is to encourage organisations in the region to support their employees and volunteers in their development through their own in-house ‘Learning Champions’ - members of the team that can influence the role that development and training will have in the future.

Each Learning Champion will receive 30 hours of guided support. During this time they will build their knowledge and understanding of issues relevant to making training and development more focused and worthwhile. As a result of our development and support, Learning Champions will feel able and confident to:

• Explore the development needs of the organisation at any level
• Develop or find solutions to those needs
• Assess the success of any development activities the organisation undertakes.

The Suffolk Association of Voluntary Organisations (SAVO), as lead partner of the Suffolk Learning Consortium, is the only Third Sector sub-contractor delivering this course, and following our success in delivery to Third Sector organisations in Suffolk we have now been asked to expand our delivery to cover Cambridgeshire and Essex.

This short course provides a Level 2 or 3 Open College Network qualification in learning and development, is FREE to small to medium sized organisations (5-250 employees) and you can choose to have up to 2 Learning Champions.
The three, two hour, modules of the course can be taken either as a one day workshop (covering Modules 1 & 2) with Module 3 and an end of course review being held at the learners’ place of work, or purely by a tutor visiting your place of work.
