News - Skills Funding Agency - Guidance Notes

Please find attached a guidance notes from the Skills Funding Agency (December 2009) covering funding allocations for the 2010/11 academic year.

I would strongly suggest that managers of provider organisations at least speed read this. For those who don't make that time, a couple of points;

p.3 para 12. 'lower investment in lower priority developmental learning' - sounds rather ominous and an interesting use of language.

p.6 para 17 is the Fee Income - they continue to rise

p.9/10 para 26 ''In contracting for 2010/11 we expect to apply Minimum Level Performance rigorously... we will seek to increase the average contract size... and over time reduce the number of smaller contracts.... we will be mindful of the need to continue to provide opportunities for smaller organisations, including Third Sector Organisations, to engage in the delivery of SFA programmes, although this will not necessarily be through direct contracts. This may require a more planned and structured approach to sub-contracting'

Make of that what you will.........
