The Suffolk Learning Consortium provides a
range of services to members, either through funded
projects or by covering costs through management
fees.
Coordinating Funding and Contract Bids
We advertise all learning related funding
and contract opportunities (through the
News and
Funding
pages) and where partnership bids are invited we
will seek expressions of interest to compose a joint
bid.
The Suffolk
Learning Consortium also works in partnership
with Suffolk County
Council to manage:
Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG)
Working closely with our members and partners we
will endeavour to provide accurate information,
advice and guidance on all learning related matters
for the Third Sector, ranging from general news to
specific details on workforce development, teaching
qualifications, continuing professional development
etc.

Partnership and Representation
The Suffolk
Learning Consortium represents Third Sector
learning providers and users on a number of county,
regional and national forums and events, to develop
partnerships and report back to members on relevant
news.

The Apprenticeship Scheme
- the Suffolk Learning Consortium is a
partner of a Suffolk County Council led project
in West Suffolk and East Babergh to trial a scheme offering
funded apprenticeships and shared
apprenticeships with Public and Third Sector
organisations.

IfL
(Institute for Learning) -
the Information
Officer of the Suffolk
Learning Consortium is an IfL Volunteer
Connection, and a Regional Advisor for the East
Midlands, which means that he is kept regularly
updated with the latest news for cascade to
members in Suffolk.

learn EAST
is a network of six county-based learning
consortia, including the Suffolk Learning
Consortium, covering the East of England,
led by COVER, the Community and Voluntary Sector
Forum for the Eastern Region. Our 6 weekly
meetings, with key stakeholders in Third
Sector learning, allow us
to keep abreast of the latest news and to ensure
our voice is heard.

Learning and Skills
Information Services (LSIS)
- SAVO, as lead partner of the Suffolk
Learning Consortium has been awarded an LSIS
'account' which can be used towards any of
LSIS's training or services. We have also been
engaged by LSIS to help review the content of
the Excellence Gateway and develop the new
Teacher Learning Centre.
- SPIAL (Suffolk Partnership for
Informal Adult Learning Learning) - this
partnership of key training providers of
personal and community learning in Suffolk is
currently chaired by SAVO's Training Manager.

Suffolk
County Council - we have worked
in partnership with Community Learning and
Skills Development team since 2008 for NLDC
funding, and are working with a number of other
teams in the Education and Learning departments
to investigate how we can support the County
Council in delivering innovative and cost
effective learning.

Management
'Creating and embedding a learning culture
in
Suffolk’s Third Sector frontline organisations'
This
BASIS2 Big Lottery
funded project will aim to develop the skills,
knowledge and learning of staff, trustees and
volunteers within Suffolk's Third Sector
organisations, and will work to strengthen the
sustainability of frontline organisations through
raising the quality of their work and their ability
to successfully apply for funding.
