Steering Group
The Suffolk Learning Consortium was formed as a Managed Network
with a Steering Group
formed from seventeen organisations who signed up as
partners to the project, and comprised of
predominantly Third Sector members, but also included non-Third
Sector groups, who may have expertise, skills or experience
that would prove useful in the decision-making
processes (i.e. colleges and Adult Education
providers who may well be important partners in the
provision of learning and skills relevant to the
Third Sector in Suffolk.
The whole focus though of the Consortium is on the
needs of the voluntary and community sector in
Suffolk and thus the business plan is
100% Third Sector focused. |

In June 2009, SAVO and the
Suffolk Learning Consortium became the lead
partner of the BASIS2 project
Creating and embedding a
learning culture in Suffolk’s Third Sector front
line organisations (funded by the Big
Lottery Fund) and the Steering Group

Steering Group Members
In order to rationalise the number of meetings
attended by members, the Steering Group have agreed
that the Steering Group will be chaired by SAVO,
secretariat will be provided by the Suffolk Learning
Consortium, and other partners will rotate through
the Steering Group, two at a time on an annual
basis.
